Quality Commitment

Quality that serves a purpose

At DACHS, quality is not about adding the most features, using the most technical language or making products more complicated than they need to be.

It is about creating products that work properly, feel good to use and continue performing over time.

Every product starts with a simple question: what does a cyclist genuinely need?

From there, we focus on the materials, construction and details that make a real difference. We invest where it improves performance, reliability or comfort—and leave out anything that adds cost or complexity without adding genuine value.

Accessories built to be used

Our accessories are designed for real rides, regular use and the unpredictable situations cyclists encounter on the road.

We select premium materials that offer strength, reliability and minimal wear over time. Whether it is a pump, tool, bag, lock or bottle, every material is chosen according to the job it needs to perform.

We pay attention to the parts that receive the most use: moving components, seals, fastenings, contact points and surfaces exposed to weather, dirt and repeated handling.

Rather than adding features for the sake of a longer specification list, we prioritise dependable functionality.

A pump should inflate a tyre reliably.
A tool should have the correct bits and withstand repeated use.
A bag should fit what's needed and protect what is inside.

The purpose should always remain clear.

Functionality first

We believe the best cycling products often feel simple.

They should be intuitive to use, easy to rely on and designed around a clear purpose. A product should not need unnecessary components, complicated instructions or features that exist only to make it look more advanced.

Throughout development, we regularly ask: is this the simplest solution?

Simple does not mean basic. It means removing anything unnecessary while making sure the essentials are done properly.

The result should be a product that works naturally, without demanding attention.

Premium materials, practical benefits

Premium materials only matter when they provide a practical benefit.

We use them to improve durability, reduce weight, increase comfort or help a product perform more consistently. We do not choose materials simply because they sound impressive in a product description.

Where possible, we look for materials that resist corrosion, stretching, cracking, fading and premature wear. We also consider how they feel in use, how they respond to repeated movement and how well they cope with changing weather conditions.

Quality should not only be visible when a product is new - it should be obvious after years of use where the product has saved your ride on multiple occasions.

Developed through use and feedback

Every DACHS product is developed by cyclists through testing and analysis.

We use our experience to give us ideas, then test on the road, in changing weather and over longer periods—not only in controlled conditions or during a single short test.

We pay attention to how a product behaves once the novelty has worn off:

  • Does it continue to perform?
  • Does it get damaged?
  • Is it easy to clean and maintain?
  • Does every feature remain useful?

Testing often leads us to remove, simplify or change features rather than add more. The goal is not to create the most complicated product. It is to create the product that is the best performing.

Unlike many cyclists, we are however not stubborn. If there is an issue, we want to hear about it. We learn from feedback. We try to improve. We want to leave customers happy.

Clothing made for performance

Cycling clothing has a difficult job.

It needs to fit closely without restricting movement, manage heat and moisture, remain comfortable over long distances and withstand repeated washing and regular use.

That is why we place so much emphasis on fabric quality, construction, fit and comfort.

Premium fabrics help clothing stretch, breathe and retain its shape. They can improve moisture management, reduce irritation and provide a more consistent fit over time.

But technical fabric alone is not enough.

The best material can still perform badly if the cut is wrong, the seams are uncomfortable or the garment moves during a ride. That is why we spend time developing and refining the fundamentals.

The basics matter most

There are always more features that could be added to cycling clothing. More pockets. More patterns. More compression zones. More technical finishes. More complicated construction.

Some of these features can be useful. Others add cost without making the garment noticeably better to wear.

We often decide against expensive additions and instead invest that money in making sure the basics are right:

  • The fabric.
  • The cut.
  • The chamois.
  • The zips.
  • The grippers.

These are the things that affect every kilometre of every ride, not just the first ride.

A feature that sounds impressive is not valuable if the jersey does not fit properly or the bib shorts become uncomfortable after two hours. We would rather create clothing that feels right from the first ride until the hundredth ride.

Colour that lasts

We do not rely on large printed designs that can crack, peel or fade after repeated washing.

Instead, we use traditionally dyed fabrics. The colour is part of the material itself rather than simply being printed onto the surface. This helps our clothing retain its appearance through regular wear and washing, while also supporting the clean, simple design that defines DACHS.

Our products are intended to be worn season after season, not replaced because a print has begun to fade.

Made to be worn, designed to be seen

All DACHS clothing features at least one reflective element.

As experienced cyclists, we know the fear of a close-call from a driver who didn't see you. Our double reflective triangles and our double reflective chevrons were not a design choice for style, they are designed to be help cyclists be seen in different conditions. We chose shapes that drivers subconsciously recognise as warnings to make sure you are recognised.

We focus the largest reflective elements on the back of the garments, because a car going faster than you on the same side of the road as you is most likely to see it there.

Designed for the long term

We do not design products to be replaced every season.

Our products are intended to remain useful, relevant and reliable for as long as possible. That influences the materials we choose, the colours we use, the designs we make and the way each product is constructed.

We prefer practical designs over short-lived trends, and dependable performance over unnecessary novelty. Our aim is time-less clothing to be worn for a long-time.

Quality with responsibility

Quality also means standing behind the products we sell.

We inspect our products, listen carefully to customer feedback and take responsibility when something does not meet the standard we expect.

We are a small company, which means product problems are not abstract statistics. We see them, discuss them and use them to improve future production.

We do not claim that every product will last forever or that mistakes can never happen.

Our commitment is to develop carefully, choose materials responsibly, test critically and respond honestly when something goes wrong. We will also always care and try our best.

Everything You Need + More If You Want It

Not all cyclists are the same. We try to offer items that can be used by all riders, but some cyclists want higher performance, despite higher costs. (We have a few in our team.)

That is why we divide our accessories and clothing into two lines:

  • Essential
  • Advanced

Our Essential line is designed to outperform other cycling gear in its price category, in the areas that actually matter. These products get the fundamentals right and are built to be used again and again, while continuing to perform over time.

Our Advanced line starts with the same strong foundations, then goes a step further. These products include additional features, without being restricted by a lower target price. They are designed for riders who are happy to pay a little more, to get a little more.

Simple. Reliable. DACHS.

Our quality commitment is straightforward:

  • Use premium materials where it matters.
  • Prioritise performance and longevity.
  • Keep products simple and purposeful.
  • Invest in the fundamentals before adding features.
  • Design products to be used, not merely advertised.
  • Essential line does the fundamentals, advanced line does a bit more.

We do not create products to look impressive on an advert or specification sheet. We create products to be impressive on rides and over time.
